Where Has The Time Gone...

Sep 14, 2023
3 min read

I say this because I started this journey when we got locked down almost 3 years ago now. For most, this was daunting, life changing and not in a good way. I can relate to that on so many levels. I never thought of myself as someone who was not mentally strong, but being forced to stay indoors and not communicate with the outside world was tough. Being a social butterfly my entire life, I suddenly had no one to speak to, except for the dog. The hours my boyfriend was gone at work everyday seemed like days. Although I loved every minute I spent with our dog, the time with our 9 year old English Mastiff Lily was not filling my cup. That time for me though was the perfect exit from a toxic employer who, for years, took advantage of my hard work, dedication, skill sets, and most importantly my time. I decided it was finally time to figure out what it was that I really wanted to do with my life. Over the years I had worked in so many different industries and accumulated so many skills, but I was struggling how to marry them altogether. I was all over the board, I had a degree in Cosmetology, worked in the oil and gas industry, furniture store and veterinary staff management...holy moly!

Decision time...I needed to take a leap of faith, go back to school and get my degree in interior design so that I could start my own business. Leap taken and here we are today at the age of 44. I have been blessed that as soon as the world opened back up, I was flooded with design work. I just now have the ability to create this space and to share it all with you. I have always wanted to incorporate my love for all things beauty, hair, skincare, and anything that empowers women and men to feel their absolute best. If you know me, I was a bit of a tomboy growing up and now most days you will find me with nothing but my freckles and skincare. I am told I look younger now than I did in my 20's. I will take a compliment like that anyday! Time keeps rolling by, I am sad to say that it took a pandemic for me to make a life changing decision, which happened to be a lifelong dream. I wish I hadn't waited so long but here we are...the next 44 are going to be epic and I'm going to look hella good living it. Cheers friends!

Our Lily girl passed away May 2022. Being a single Mom for most of my life and working weekends, holidays, pretty much whenever I could, I missed so much precious time with her. Covid allowed me that final year and half that I am so very grateful for. The love of a dog is so unconditional, the emotional support she provided for me in the darkest time of my life, I simply cannot explain in words. This photo warms my heart and brings me to tears, as her face speaks to her level of love she had for me. I am grateful the world stood still for those moments in time so that I could share moments like this with my truest companion.
