Who Am I?

Yes, the obvious answer to that question is Jen, aka Pallet And Palette. I am an Interior Designer, mom of 2, Millie's mom, Joe's girlfriend, everyone's friends, follower of God...the list goes on and on. I posted this photo because to you all you look at this and hopefully think, wow what a lovely photo. I on the other hand see "ME"! Awkward, yes I am not a "girly girly", never have been and at this point I never will be. As you can maybe tell in this photo, I have no idea what to do with my skinny, knobby knees that are never exposed to the world in a dress, they usually are just in active shorts or covered by jeans or sweats. Lets then address the puffy eyes. This is the face of a dog mom that the night before slept on the sofa with her 115lb. puppy who had surgery the day before. I've been a single mom my entire adult life. I had my son when I was 18 and my daughter at 20. I know what it is like to be stressed and sleep deprived. Running a business, having a puppy, building and designing your own home, continuing to parent adult children, WILL absolutely give you puffy eyes and wrinkles no matter how great the skincare line.

The point I am making here is that we all look at ourselves in very different ways than what the world sees us as. We see the number of "friends" we have on social media platforms and gauge that on how popular we are but who really knows us? Over the past few weeks I have had this very conversation with my daughter. There are very few people on those platforms that REALLY know me. Some do, some ask how my Dad is doing, since over the past year his health has declined and everyday I get to refer to him in the present is a gift from God. Some know that this business page exists and have shared my business with friends and family and have given wonderful referrals. Then there are those that just simply keep on scrolling, and that is ok by me. If you know the real me though, you know that even if one of those people were to call on me for something that no matter the time of day or night that I would respond, even get in my car and come to the rescue if need be.
